I’M BACKKKK!!!

Hey, I haven’t been on my blog in a long time… I was being lazy hehehe, however I’m going to start posting at least once a week! I’ve got a lot of new things to blog about and some recipes to share and just things that I find awesome. Just like these designer shoes I got by Ronnie Fieg!  These are Asics × Ronnie Fieg Gel Lyte III’s Mint Leaf. They are super limited and I was lucky enough to grab a pair. I shot these with a Cannon EOS 7D with a macro lens EF 100mm.

Otterbox Defender for iPhone 4 review is complete!

So almost everyone has dropped their phone before, when you have a cheap phone you’d probably get over it. When it’s an expensive phone, like an iPhone it’s going to be like the end of the world. I’ve seen some pretty nasty cracks on the screen on iPhones before from being dropped from low heights. Most people get cases for their iPhones, however most of the time they go for style over protection.

I’m talking about cases like this.

It keeps your iPhone looking slim and sleek, however….

-As you can clearly see this case offers minimum protection.

-The front isn’t protected at all, so if you drop it on the screen side it’s going to be damaged.

-The case won’t absorb that much shock, so the rest of it is transferred to your iPhone’s internal parts.

-It looks like the phone would fall out of the case when dropped.

Overall it’s not going to really help save your phone when you drop it, only the back is covered.

Now there are the heavy duty cases which will protect your iPhone from being dropped or thrown accidentally.

Some are just designed ridiculously to the point where your phone looks like a children’s toy. I had purchased a case for my new iPhone last month after looking for the perfect case. In the end I had found the Otterbox Defender.

Fried Oreos!

My recipe to cooking those very tasty fried Oreos without burning your wallet.

If you’ve gone to the boardwalk before, you’ve probably seen some fried Oreos on a menu or just at a stand. Some people say they sound gross but have never tried it, others say they are just so very good and worth the money. Well, just about everything that’s battered and deep fried is going to be good. However I feel that 1 dollar for 1 fried Oreo is an absolute a ripoff. Just think about it, you will probably buy around 3 or 4 of them thus spending $3-4 dollars of course. Not only that its a rip off its x10 worse then actually making them yourself.

Reasons why buying them from stands, or snack shacks its a horrible choice.

-Long term frying leads to the oil turning dark brown or even black! which makes it x10 unhealthier then normal.

-Its not even worth it.

-You’d probably get a horrible stomach ache afterwords.

Why you should make them yourself.

-A box of Oreos at Costco is around 5 dollars which give you  50+ cookies

-A box of Aunt Jemima’s Buttermilk Pancake Mix is around 4 dollars or less.

-Save alot of money

-Not as unhealthy as to the boardwalks or snackshacks.

Safety and tips when frying…

1. NEVER EVER ADD WATER!!! – Water and Oil don’t mix, If you throw water into a pot of hot oil the whole thing will explode! *no joke* when you fry with fruits or vegetables pat them dry with a paper towel and then dip them into your batter.

2. If your going to be frying for awhile, be sure to wear a face mask, the smells given off when frying will make you feel a bit nauseous and gross.

3. Never leave a pot of  hot oil unattended, If you need to go to do something quick in another room, tell someone to watch it or just turn off the heat.

4. When finished frying,  turn off the heat and let the pot of oil sit there for a few hours to cool down.

5. To check if the oil is the ideal temperature to start frying, dip your fork or chopstick into your batter and then dip it into your oil, if nothing happens its still to cold, if it cooks the batter slowly its still to cold. When it cook batter very quickly then your ready.

Now for the Recipe

Ingredients:

-Oreos *you can also use Double Stuffed Oreos if you want it to be more sweet*

-Vegetable oil

-Aunt Jemima’s Butter Milk Pancake Mix

-Cold Water

Tools:

-A medium sized Pot or you can use a fryer.

- Paper Towels

- A wisk

- A bowl

- A pair of chopsticks *if you cant use chopsticks use a spider strainer or a regular strainer but be sure they are fully dry!*

*A fork only necessary if you aren’t using chopsticks.

1. So first fill up your pot a little over 1/2 way with oil.

2. Turn the heat to high.

3. While the oil is heating up prepare your batter by pouring a good amount of pancake mix. Add in some cold water, and then mix it with your wisk.

If you add too much water just add some more pancake mix. Your batter should be semi thick, Keep in mind do not over mix. After you are finished making the batter let it sit for 10 minutes to let it rise.

4. Once your oil is hot enough dunk your Oreos into the batter, and when its completely  coated slowly place the oreo into the pot of oil and cook it on both sides until golden brown. I recommend frying 1 oreo at a time. After you take the fried Oreo out, place it on a plate with 2 sheets of paper towels on the bottom and then cover it with another 2 sheets to drain the oil out.

5. After you finish frying you can either dust it with powdered sugar or just eat it as is. Assuming you’ve let it cool down for 2-3 minutes

Enjoy your fried Oreo’s!

If you have any other questions leave comments!

Mocha Ice Cream

Mocha ice cream, one of my favorite ice cream recipes. Its incredibly simple and tastes amazing, people will think you bought it from a gourmet brand.

~Pictures will be added soon~

Ingredients

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup half and half

1/2 cup sugar *you can add less if you want*

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 pinch of salt

2 tablespoons instant coffee

1/4 cup chocolate syrup

First pour the half and half into a pot, then add in the coffee, salt, and sugar.  Heat it over medium-low heat, you want to just make it warm enough to dissolve the coffee and sugar. Then add in the chocolate syrup and vanilla extract. Mix it around with a whisk and check if everything is dissolved. When everything is dissolved you can take it off the heat and then add in the heavy cream. Mix it around and then pour the cream into your ice cream makers tin and start churning. I set my ice cream maker’s timer to about 45-60 minutes. After its finished churning you can have it on the spot while its still soft or you can put it into the freezer for it to become harder.
